Xmas Message from LORNA

Hello fellow Nerds,

X'mas is on its way and as LORNA, I am concern if you will all be ready for a celebration the RNA way. Just in case, some of us are not as ready, let us drop a nerdy suggestion or two in our very popular RNA blog.

Oh yea, a warmest welcome to all the new recruits. I would also like to give the greatest thanks to all the Agents who have made the recruiting successful and any others who have slacked but managed to squeeze names into Year End Credits and Thank You Very Much Speech.

LORNA's plans for the end of the year, will be meeting up with USAIARNA during X'mas and NYs, so we can further discuss on how can we further spread the name of RNA. Other announcements would be, by the end of 2009, I would definitely love to meet up with other IAs living outside our HQ.

Okey, gang~ Have a wonderful X'mas and a Happy New Year, and never forget our roots~ (nerdy ones). Ho Ho Ho~ Fa la la la la~ *yawn* Good night~

RNA is an acronym for ribonucleic acid, a nucleic acid. RNA is transcribed from DNA by an enzyme called RNA polymerase and further processed by other enzymes.
RNA translates genes into proteins, transferring amino acids from the nucleus to the ribosome to form proteins, and also translating the transcript into proteins. This process is called translation.
RNA is physically different to DNA: DNA contains two intercoiled strands whereas RNA only contains one single strand. RNA also contains different bases to DNA. It contains:
(A) Adenine (G) Guanine (C) Cytosine (U) Uracil
The first three bases are also found in DNA, but Uracil replaces Thymine as a complement to Adenine.
RNA also contains ribose as opposed to deoxyribose found in DNA.
RNA is the carrier of genetic material in different types of viruses such as AIDS virus i.e. HIV (HUMAN IMMUNO DEFICIENCY VIRUS) and in that case called a retrovirus.

The meaning of Nerd (extracted from www.dictionary.com)

1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.

2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.

3. A foolish, inept, or unattractive person.

4. A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.

5. an insignificant student who is ridiculed as being affected or boringly studious

6. an intelligent but single-minded expert in a particular technical field or profession

7. Pejorative applied to anyone with an above-average IQ and few gifts at small talk and ordinary social rituals.

8. Term of praise applied (in conscious ironic reference to sense 1) to someone who knows what's really important and interesting and doesn't care to be distracted by trivial chatter and silly status games. Compare the two senses of computer geek.

Gadgets of the agent ASN, the black frame plastic specs is one of the fashion icon in the nerdy culture for many years. It can never go out of fashion.The black classic mirror is to check and maintain the nerdy fashion look for 2008. The black nokia phone is to get regular updates from members of RNA. This is our picture of agent VSN, seems like she is trying to recruit more members online. She went back to Japan on 12 October 2008, to continue her journey on recruiting a successor over there. Will she succeed? Let's see, we are planting seeds in all over the world (currently in Taiwan/Malaysia). Singapore is our HQ.



Oh yea, this is our sexy babe - Agent PN. Don't be decieved by her sexy appearance, she is the advisor of our associate. All these innovative nicknames are contributed from her, she will coming up with new ideas for our newly appointed agents.
